What is the whole-child approach?
For decades, most education systems around the world have been based solely around academic achievement. However, a children’s academic progress is strongly linked to their overall well-being and personal and social skills, among others. The whole child approach goes beyond academics to focus on building a child’s character and gaining a deeper understanding of the child, in partnership with the family. This allows Early Childhood Educators to help children reach their fullest potential and support their academic progress as well as overall development, including cognitive skills, identity, and mental, social, and emotional health.
